There’s something so special about photographing a growing family in the place they love most, the outdoors. As a Boulder maternity photographer, I had the joy of meeting Olivia and Brayton (and their sweet pup Koda) near Boulder for a summer session filled with gorgeous scenery, wildflowers, and heartfelt moments.

Though they now live in Winter Park, Olivia and Brayton spent seven years in Denver. Their connection to the mountains runs deep. Hiking, skiing, and camping are their favorite ways to spend time together. And it was easy to see that adventurous spirit come through during our time together.

Summer Wildflowers in Colorado
Olivia began the session in a flowy blue dress and wide-brim hat, perfect for catching the light breeze and showing off the bump. Later, she changed into a casual jeans-and-button-down look that felt true to their laid-back vibe. And of course, their dog Koda stole the show more than once! He trotted right into several portraits, tail wagging and full of charm.
We met at one of my favorite mountain parks near Boulder. Picture this: wide-open meadows, soft rolling hills, and a sea of purple lupine blooming in every direction. It was the perfect setting for this beautiful season of waiting.

A Baby on the Way
They’re expecting a baby boy, and this session was such a heartfelt way to celebrate. Maternity sessions like these are more than just photos, they’re a chance to slow down, breathe in the mountain air, and remember this fleeting, beautiful chapter.
