As a Highlands Ranch family photographer, I’m always excited to capture the unique bond families share. Recently, I had the privilege of photographing Brian, Jess, and their two amazing kids, Nora and Clayton, at the lovely Highlands Ranch Mansion.
The Timeless Backdrop of Highlands Ranch Mansion
The Highlands Ranch Mansion provided the perfect backdrop for this laid-back and fun-loving family. This historic location, with its sprawling lawns and scenic views, felt both elegant and approachable—just like Brian and Jess wanted. It allowed the kids to run, play, and explore, while the family’s unique bond took center stage.

Each family member brought their own special energy to the session. Nora, their fiercely independent six-year-old, shines with a caring heart. She’s in tune with her emotions and loves helping out. Her favorite school subjects are PE and music. Despite her mature streak, she still loves to snuggle with her parents.
Then there’s Clayton, their cute two-year-old with a love for fire trucks and animals. Though shy at first, he quickly warmed up and revealed his playful side. He was really interested in exploring inside the Mansion, so this could be a fun spot to return to during open tour hours.
The joy and laughter this family shares are undeniable. They don’t strive for perfection; instead, they focus on kindness, strength, and being themselves. This approach made their session incredibly authentic. They interacted naturally, embracing both their quirks and strengths.
