High above Denver’s skyline sits Stellar Jay event space, the city’s newest rooftop venue—and a true hidden gem for intimate celebrations. Located atop the architecturally iconic Populus Hotel Denver, this private event space blends modern design with organic detail.
A Closer Look at the Stellar Jay Event Space
Stellar Jay—Populus’s rooftop event space—is a hidden gem. Recently, I had the chance to photograph the private event room, which features delicate, hand-painted leaves and panoramic city views. Styled as an editorial shoot, it would be perfect for a rehearsal dinner, welcome party, or post-wedding brunch.
Inspired by Nature, Designed for Celebration
The editorial was planned by Bridget at Social Life Event Co., with florals by Kate of Plum Sage Flowers. Their vision felt effortless yet elevated, pairing delicate spring blooms with sculptural stems and dried elements.
Florals included pink dogwoods, tulips, peonies, roses, and fritillaria—layered with unexpected textures like petal-less sunflower centers, poppy seed pods, and dried scabiosa. Together, they created an editorial-worthy atmosphere in this fresh new venue.
Leading the Way in Sustainability
Not only is Stellar Jay event space visually stunning—it’s also housed in Populus Hotel, Denver’s newest hotel. Inspired by the bark of Colorado’s aspen trees, its curved, eye-shaped windows mirror the markings of the native trunks and create playful shadows and filtered light inside. But this space is more than just beautiful—it’s purpose-driven. Populus is the first carbon-positive hotel in the U.S., built with low-carbon concrete and designed to offset more carbon than it produces. For every guest stay, a tree is planted, and the hotel composts 100% of its food waste.
