Snow-Covered Evergreen Colorado Engagement

Engagement
February 4, 2020

His Mom wanted a “nice girl” for her son. That sounds like a reasonable request, right? All the stars aligned when a mutual friend gave the number of the nicest girl she knew to Mike’s Mom. Mike texted Krysta and the rest is history!

It was meant to be because as soon as Mike saw Krysta on their first date, he knew that he was in trouble. And Krysta thought to herself, “Oh my gosh, I am going to marry that guy!”

Their first date was at an Avalanche Hockey Game in early 2016. Even though Krysta thought she talked too much, Mike listened so well that the date continued as they talked in the car until 3am!

In November of 2019, Mike proposed in downtown Denver. It was so cold and windy that when Mike reached into his pocket to pull out a ring, Krysta thought he was pulling out a pair of gloves for her. She was completely shocked when he got down on one knee! After she said yes, they went to Corridor 44 for champagne and dinner. It was an amazing night. Mike always says, “Krysta, you are soooo hard to surprise,” and she loved every minute of it.

Their wedding is scheduled for April 14, 2020 in Maui, Hawaii. That’s exciting to me since Joe and I got married there a few months ago – and I cannot wait to see their wedding photos! Krysta’s dream was to get married on the beach; they both traveled to Hawaii a couple of years ago and fell in love with the islands. It’s especially fitting for them to get married in one of the locales where their love journey started!

Some fun facts: Mike recently graduated from the Fire Academy as a Firefighter Paramedic, and speaks Hungarian and Slovak. Krysta was born and raised in Denver, CO, and is an instructor who enjoys teaching lyrical dance.

  1. […] We met at Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church for a morning mass led by Father David, along with 15 other guests. Krysta and Mike deserved a gorgeous wedding. Like almost all 2020 brides and grooms, their original plans were rescheduled, rescheduled again, and again, and eventually cancelled because of COVID-19. They had planned to get married in Hawaii in April – read their original story here. […]
