I love photographing my dance students and their families! Whether it’s senior photos, dance photos, or family photos, I enjoy seeing them outside of the studio and getting to know their family members better! I met my ballet student Aarya and her mom Nisha, dad Akshay, plus little brothers Nikhil and Zayn on a cool day in November for Littleton Colorado family photos. Tip – bring a warm jacket to wear when we’re changing locations or in between shots.
This sweet family describes themselves as loving, chaotic, and goofy (which sounds like most families of young kids)! These adorable, high-energy boys loved when I gave them running prompts – and of course they did! I try to keep young kids moving and having fun because it’s so much more enjoyable for them (and for me) and helps prompt those cute laughs and giggles. I also love to take photos of just Mom and Dad. The chorus of disgusting eeeewwwwws from the kids during the intimate posing also brings out some giggles from Mom and Dad! Aarya (11) loves dance and is currently in my pre-pointe ballet program and very anxiously awaiting a pointe approval. Nikhil (almost 8) enjoys soccer, reading, and math. The youngest, Zayn (6), enjoys soccer. The whole family loves to vacation in California, especially at Disney.
