There’s something magical about a wedding at the Vail Wedding Deck, set against the stunning backdrop of Vail, Colorado. With epic views of the Vail Valley and Gore Mountain range, it’s a breathtaking (literally and figuratively) choice for “I do’s” at over 10k feet. When Jenna and Joe decided to tie the knot at the Vail Wedding Deck and host their reception at Donovan Pavilion, they envisioned a day filled with Monet-inspired garden florals and mountaintop views. Their wedding was nothing short of a romantic summer dream, meticulously crafted to reflect their passions and unique love story.
The Love Story: From Roommates to Soulmates
Jenna and Joe’s journey began in 2016 in Boulder. Jenna had just graduated from CU Boulder, and Joe was starting his master’s program. Fate brought them together when Joe responded to Jenna’s online roommate listing. Their friendship blossomed quickly, turning into a deep connection over two and a half years as roommates. It was Joe who courageously took the first step, and the rest is history.
Vail Wedding Deck: A Breathtaking Backdrop
Jenna and Joe couldn’t resist the allure of Vail’s majestic mountain backdrop. At over 10,000 feet, the Vail Wedding Deck offers a stunning setting for wedding ceremonies, creating unforgettable memories for them and their guests. The reception at Donovan Pavilion continued the celebration with a seamless blend of elegance and natural beauty.
A Sunny Summer Day at the Vail Wedding Deck
Their wedding day was blessed with gorgeous summer weather, peak wildflower season in Vail. The atmosphere was filled with joy and vibrant energy, perfectly complementing the Monet-inspired vibes. Jenna’s bridesmaids wore multi-colored pastel floral dresses, while the groomsmen looked dashing in dark suits with custom-made blue floral ties. The bride wore a Watters gown, complete with floral embroidery and romantic bows on her shoulders.
A Garden-Themed Celebration
Jenna’s love for gardening was beautifully reflected throughout their wedding. The couple chose a garden theme, with colorful pastel florals created by Rachel at A Florae bringing their vision to life. The bride’s touch was evident in every detail, from the escort cards made from flower seed packets to the BBJ La Tavola blue floral linens adorning the reception tables. Cane plate chargers, gold cutlery, and delicate crystal glassware added a touch of elegance to the floral-inspired decor. The bride’s vision was flawlessly executed by Meredith of Gemini Planning and Design, whose attention to detail ensured every element was perfect.
Capturing the Essence at the Vail Wedding Deck
As their photographer, it was a privilege to align with Jenna’s vision and contribute creatively. Crafting a lush invitation flat lay suite, I incorporated small white faux butterflies to enhance the details. Writing their names in dusty blue calligraphy ink on hand-torn scrolled paper added a personal touch that complemented the overall aesthetic.
Special Moments and Unique Touches
Family played a significant role in Jenna and Joe’s wedding. One particularly touching moment was Jenna’s first look with her dad. Additionally, Jenna’s cousin Whitney officiated the wedding.
A standout feature of the day was the mobile oxygen bar provided by Peak Oxygen, allowing guests to enjoy flavored oxygen with the assistance of an oxygen bartender. This unique touch was a hit among the guests, adding a fun and memorable twist to the celebration.
Jenna and Joe’s wedding was a beautiful blend of their love story, personal passions, and breathtaking scenery. It was an honor to capture the essence of their day, creating timeless memories that they will cherish forever. If you’re planning a Vail Wedding Deck wedding, please reach out to me here.
