I’m super thrilled to share portraits from a stunningly gorgeous wedding I photographed last summer! I am so honored to have met Andrea Stark, and when she asked me to second shoot with her at the Vail wedding deck, I had to say yes! As a result, I absolutely loved being a Vail wedding photographer for Bethany and John’s celebration and photographed at a bucket list wedding location!
This wedding venue on Vail Mountain is only accessible via the Eagle Bahn Gondola 19. After a fun and short ride to the Eagle’s Nest, breathtaking west-facing mountain views greeted me. The wedding deck is only a short walk from the gondola. In this space, on the side of the mountain, is where Bethany and John shared their sweet first look with their dog, Hondo. And then, where we took their bride and groom portraits.
The wedding deck itself needs practically nothing – the views alone totally sell it! However, I loved the two floral arrangements flanking either side. The ceremony was sweet and memorable with a few tears here and there. And most of the guests rode the gondola down the mountain to cocktail hour just before a short, yet giant storm appeared.
The reception space, The Arrabelle at Vail Square, was under a tent of delicate greenery and sparkling lights. In the same style, the guests were welcomed to their tables of exquisite florals and softly glowing candles. But my favorite part of the reception was the band! Seriously, the Mannequin band was so fun and kept Bethany and John, the crowd, and me going for hours! And this wasn’t the first wedding where I was complimented on my dance moves by the guests!
