So, you just got engaged – Congratulations! Cue the confetti, champagne, and… well, wedding planning. Among the many decisions to make, one of the most important is choosing the right photographer to capture those once in a lifetime moments. But before you dive into the depths of Pinterest for inspiration, you’ll likely have a wedding photography consultation call. Wondering what that entails? Keep reading…

Setting the Scene via Zoom

Picture this: you’re cozied up on your couch, hopefully with your significant other beside you, and your laptop or phone is propped up in front of you. Yes, that’s the vibe for your consultation call. Most likely, it’ll be through Zoom or Google Meet. No need to fret about dressing to impress – comfy clothes and your dog next to you are totally acceptable. Why video? Living in a destination wedding area and serving couples headed for the mountains such as Vail and Aspen, many of my clients are not local. While I’d love to meet all my clients in person for their wedding photography consultation, it’s not always logistically feasible. As a visual learner, I love to see my couple’s expressions and interactions on Zoom. That cute giggle when I ask how you two met…I love that! Your dreamy eyes while envisioning the gorgeous florals and being surrounded by your loved ones…more please!

Getting to Know You

First, we’re going to get acquainted. This isn’t just about me showcasing my portfolio and boasting about my photography skills. I want to hear about the two of you. Your love story, your vision for your big day, and what makes your hearts flutter. It’s like a virtual coffee date, but with the added bonus of discussing how I can capture your love in stunning photos.

The Q&A Session At Your Wedding Photography Consultation Call

Now, let’s get down to business. Expect a series of questions to help me understand exactly what you’re looking for in your wedding photos. We’ll chat about your wedding date, venue, vision, and vibe. Questions may include:

Who is your planner?

How many guests are you expecting?

Are you considering an engagement session?

Are you looking for full weekend coverage of additional events (these may include rehearsal dinner and/or morning-after brunch coverage)?

What are you most excited about for your day?

Looking through your album a year from your wedding, how do you want to feel when you see your images?

I offer completely customized proposals because this isn’t a one-size-fits-all situation. Your wedding is as unique as your fingerprint, and your photography should reflect that. I’m here to learn about your specific needs so that I can tailor a collection that suits YOU.

The Lowdown on Logistics

Next, let’s talk logistics, including contracts, timelines, and payments. Don’t worry, I’ll walk you through everything step by step. This is the boring-but-necessary stuff that ensures we’re all on the same page and there are no surprises down the aisle. Consider it wedding planning 101 with a side of photography expertise.

Wrapping Up Our Wedding Photography Consultation Call

As our call draws to a close, I want you to feel excited, inspired, and totally confident in your decision to choose me as your wedding photographer. Whether you’ve got butterflies in your stomach or you’re ready to pop the champagne, I’m here to answer any questions and reassure you that your big day is in good hands.

What Happens Next?

Once our call wraps up, I will craft your personalized proposal. It will include various choices tailored to our discussion, spanning different coverage and investment possibilities. Additionally, you can expect to receive the proposal link within 24-48 hours. Your wedding date will be on hold for 7 days, allowing you time to consider the best fit for you. Lastly, since each proposal is uniquely crafted, feel free to reach out if you’re interested in exploring additional alternatives.

Until We Say “I Do” to Working Together

This is just the beginning of our journey together. As you continue to plan your wedding day, know that I’m just an email or phone call away. Whether you need advice on engagement photo outfits or just want to chat about your latest wedding planning wins, I’m here for you every step of the way.

So, there it is – a sneak peek into what to expect at your wedding photography consultation call. It’s all about getting to know each other, discussing your vision, and ensuring that your wedding day memories are captured beautifully. Ready to dive in? Let’s make some magic together!
