The first weekend of October the Rocky Mountains provides an absolutely gorgeous setting for an Aspen Colorado fall wedding! With the local aspen trees at peak yellow, Kelsi and Everet’s wedding weekend at Chair Mountain Ranch in Marble, located close to Aspen, was a total dream come true! I took their Aspen engagement photos at Ashcroft this summer, so these two were pros in front of my camera.
Despite a rainy start to the day, the sprinkles stopped after the first look. And the sun finally peeked through the clouds during the ceremony. The first look location was nestled amongst the changing foliage next to the Crystal River, with views of Chair Mountain in the distance. I love grooms’ excitement at first looks. In every wedding I’ve photographed, I’ve seen such a bigger and more exciting reaction at the first look than at the ceremony.
Kelsi, a wedding planner in Aspen, designed every aspect of her stunning mountain ranch wedding. There were so many special details. One of my favorites was the small white bud vases scattered throughout the tablescapes. Kelsi’s mom, Georgann, made every single one of them, about 150, on her pottery wheel. Some were matte, some were glazed, some were speckled, and some were patterned, but they were all each unique and beautiful. My other favorite? The cake topper! Adorable replicas of Penny and Coco, the couple’s sweet dogs, sat happily atop the wedding cake wearing Denver Broncos jerseys. And one more – Kelsi made her veil! Yes, this beautiful cathedral length veil!
Amazing food, amazing drinks, amazing people, and insanely delicious local Coloradough donuts rounded out this Rocky Mountain fall wedding that ranks up there as one of my all-time favorites. Kelsi and Everet (plus Penny and Coco), I’ve absolutely loved being a small part of your journey to preserve this time in your lives! Thank you!
