Aspen Engagement Photographer | Summer Picnic near Aspen

This beautiful upscale summer engagement picnic might be one of my favorite sessions to date! Being an Aspen engagement photographer automatically means beautiful scenery, so when Jenna and Joe agreed to meet me near Aspen, I was over the moon! I discovered this stunning location on my way to and from last year’s Aspen engagement photo shoot with Kelsi and Everet.

Jenna and Joe met in 2016 in Boulder. She had recently graduated from CU Boulder with her undergrad degree as Joe was arriving to begin his master’s program. Each of them were searching for a prospective roommate when Joe fatefully responded to her online listing. After becoming fast friends and roommates for two and half years, they both secretly began to develop feelings for each other. Joe was brave enough to make the first move!

Jenna planned a trip to Napa, CA, for her birthday last year. And on the last day of the trip, Joe surprised her with an engagement! They planned to go to one of their favorite vineyards, Blue Oak Vineyard. But when they arrived, they had the entire place to themselves. Joe proposed and it was incredibly intimate. He then surprised Jenna yet again by letting her know he had also hired a private chef to serve them a 4-course meal at the winery!

As you can see, these two love and appreciate amazing food and drink! So when Jenna and Joe liked my upscale summer picnic near Aspen idea, we got to work immediately. A photoshoot of this caliber doesn’t happen without a good bit of planning. After many emails to finalize details, I think we pulled it off! But my absolute favorite detail of this engagement photoshoot is the wine. Yes, this bottle is from the exact vineyard where Jenna and Joe got engaged!
