As a Vail engagement photographer who captures love in the mountains, Franki and Matthew’s engagement session in Vail was nothing short of magical. This fun, romantic, and scenic session perfectly mirrored their journey together, filled with laughter, love, and chic style.
Hailing from a small town in north Louisiana, Matthew is a civil engineer in Baton Rouge. Currently, he works for a design consulting firm. Additionally, Matthew has a deep passion for the outdoors, particularly hunting, and stays active with exercise and adventures with their German Shorthaired Pointer pup, Major.
From a larger city in south Louisiana, Franki is in her final year of Physician Assistant school. She enjoys cooking and attending barre classes several times a week. Together, Franki and Matthew are avid travelers, who spend weekends at their lake house during the summer and at the hunting camp with family in winter.
Franki and Matthew’s love story began in college through mutual friends. Their first date at Franki’s favorite rooftop sushi restaurant in Baton Rouge marked the start of something special. From that moment, they were inseparable. And Matthew knew he was in love with Franki when he saw her seamlessly fit in with his family. That was key for him given that he is incredibly family-oriented.
The Perfect Proposal
Matthew’s proposal to Franki was a dream come true for her. He meticulously planned a surprise proposal in Highlands, NC, under the guise of his mom’s birthday celebration. Renting a house on Lake Greenville, he orchestrated a perfect moment by the lake where he got down on one knee, capturing her completely off guard. A photographer documented the entire proposal, and to Franki’s amazement, her family, who had been flown in secretly, awaited them inside the house. Without a doubt, Matthew went above and beyond, ensuring a magical and unforgettable proposal.
Vail Engagement Photographer
Their engagement session in Vail reflected their vibrant personalities and shared passions. As such, they started the session with outfits that paid homage to the West, complete with western boots and Kemo Sabe hats. Next, their second set of outfits included a tailored suit for Matthew and a stunning floral motif Zimmerman dress for Franki, adding elegance to the scenic backdrop.
Franki and Matthew are set to tie the knot at Camp Hale in 2025 and I’m excited to document their wedding day. And I loved photographing their Vail engagement photos session.
