I’m super excited to share these Colorado mountain engagement photos! I met Catie and Liam at one of my favorite mountain spots, close to 12k feet. The weather threw us a total curveball, however. Despite a presumably nice forecast, we all reached the summit in the middle of a hail storm! I decided to start the session at a lower elevation where the weather was clear and we had views of the summit. We were all hoping that the storm would pass over and we could return. And luckily, our collective wish was granted! The white stuff on the ground in the photos is hail and not snow!
Catie and Liam are a gorgeous couple and especially close to my heart because they are both professional ballet dancers with the Colorado Ballet. Catie is from Jacksonville, FL, and absolutely loves the beach. Her hobbies include all sorts of crafty things, reading, and decorating. Liam is from Houston, TX, and his favorite hobbies include snowboarding, reading, and real estate investing.
Catie and Liam met at Houston Ballet’s 2015 Summer Intensive when they were teenagers. They were partners in pas de deux class on the first day (hmmm, this story is very familiar to me – if you don’t know, Joe and I met in pas de deux class in 1997!). Their first date was at the movies to see Jurassic World. After that, Catie and Liam were inseparable all summer and then continued a LDR (long distance relationship) for two years! Both admit that they met so young but were so sure about each other right away.
Liam proposed to Catie on their trip to Paris this summer! Catie says, “It was so romantic, he took me to a beautiful park and proposed in a temple over looking Paris.” They had such a great trip together. And they have always known they wanted to get married.
