I had a great time photographing Kayleigh, Derrick, Emma, and Cooper for their Golden, Colorado family photos! This family describes themselves as “goofy, always laughing, cutting up, and carrying on.” And that’s exactly what made our session so fun! Kayleigh is the type of person who I felt like I’ve known my whole life, even though I just met her and her family for the first time this week!
We met at Windy Saddle Park near Golden. This spot boasts epic, stunning mountain views and only a slightly knuckle-gripping drive up to the parking lot. I’ve been wanting someone to choose this spot for at least a year, and I’m so glad that this family loved it! Kayleigh and her fam are a vacationing family from Delaware. I’ve photographed several vacationing families in Colorado. Meeting each one is so fun and I love seeing their reactions to the beautiful mountains!
Kayleigh and Derrick are high school sweethearts! They met when Kayleigh was 14 and attending a new school. Derrick swept her off her feet by making her laugh so hard, and the rest is history. Twenty-one years later, they are still madly in love, and I think that’s absolutely obvious in their photos!
Their beautiful girls, Emma and Cooper, are 14 and 8 years old. Emma, like my dance students, loves music and is obsessed with Harry Styles. Cooper is more shy but has a lovely personality and loves baby dolls. This family loves going to the arcade or the pool. Their favorite food is tacos and they would eat them every day if possible! They also have two dogs, LuLu and Wally.
