Early October in Colorado might be one of my favorite times of year! And Andrea and Brad’s YA YA Farm & Orchard wedding in Longmont, Colorado, was the perfect event to end my busy wedding season. Orchard fresh apples, farm animals, home-grown florals, a gorgeous couple, and…..one of my favorite events of the evening, a bluegrass band!
Their proposal story – Brad’s daughter Amari was excited to be a part of the proposal idea and execution. Brad and Amari picked a guitar song “Look At You Girl” to play around a fire pit after dinner. Then, Amari asked Brad to play a few guitar songs when they sat down in front of the fire. After some convincing, he got his guitar and sang nervously to Andrea the sweet words that should have tipped her off that a proposal was coming.
Since Andrea was not expecting a proposal, she missed Amari handing Brad the ring box. As such, Andrea made a comment about the difficulty of one of the chords Brad was playing during the song. At that point, he got down on one knee, asking “a beautiful girl on a beautiful night to spend the rest of their lives together.” Find more details on how this sweet couple met in their engagement blog post.
YA YA Farm and Orchard Wedding
Back to the wedding, the weather was absolutely perfect – low 70s and sunny all day. As whiffs of apples wafted through the orchard trees, I started the day picking a few apples for detail photos. While a string quartet welcomed guests to the ceremony, Andrea and Brad prepared to exchange vows. After a beautiful ceremony, guests headed to a tented cocktail hour and apple barn. Dahlias grown in Andrea and Brad’s garden were scattered throughout the design. And the cake….so adorable! It was covered with marzipan apples! My favorite event of the evening was High Lonesome Bluegrass who kept the couple, their guests, and me entertained all evening! Lastly, Andrea changed into a rad jumpsuit for their sparkler send-off!
