Lake Dillon elopement on film

September is a gorgeous time in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. And it was an incredible day for Kiersten and Matt’s Lake Dillon elopement on film under the aspens. I met this sweet couple, and their dog Ollie, at a charming A-frame home in Breckenridge. I started with flat lay details, getting dressed, and then first look photos. Even Ollie had his own custom suit and boutonnière!

After that, we headed towards Lake Dillon for a private vow reading. Both Kiersten and Matt hand-wrote their vows in custom leather vow books. Then, they signed the marriage license with Ollie’s paw print! Next, they enjoyed a slice of cake with raspberry filling. And finally, we moved on to a few husband and wife photos.

Since I photographed their beautiful engagement photos near the Dillon marina, both Kiersten and Matt wanted a few wedding photos on the same dock. And lastly, we visited a very special place…an aspen grove by Matt’s family home. Not only was this location at peak aspen season, but it holds a special place in Matt’s heart, as it’s where his family scattered his grandfather’s ashes.

Gosh, this was the most amazing, beautiful, and heartfelt day. And I’m honored to be the one to capture it for Kiersten and Matt! Serving wonderful couples like them is why I do what I do!
